BentoPack Studio

The high-performance workstation for 2D atlas packing, tight polygon meshes and sprite animation.

Stop wasting GPU fillrate and VRAM. BentoPack generates tight meshes for Unity, Godot and Unreal, eliminating up to 80% of the overdraw caused by classic transparent quads.

  • Windows / macOS / Linux
  • Native C++17 architecture
  • No Electron

A transparent model

What you buy, and what stays free.

  • BentoPack Studio (desktop): standalone software, one-time purchase with no subscription, zero runtime dependencies.
  • Engine add-ons (Unity, Godot, Unreal): free and open source (MIT). No forced MonoBehaviour, no DLL shipped in your final builds.
  • Git / SCM stability: deterministic output, no more GUID conflicts in .meta files.

Features

From atlas slicing to final export, a complete and optimized pipeline.

Tight polygon meshes

No more rendering useless transparent pixels. 2D meshes (Marching Squares + Ear-Clipping) hug your sprites perfectly: −60% to −80% GPU overdraw. Compatible with Forward+ and Deferred Shading.

Native KTX2 VRAM compression

Skip runtime CPU decompression with direct export to KTX2 (Khronos Basis Universal). UASTC 4x4 and ETC1S modes cut the mobile memory footprint by 75% to 87.5% while keeping pixel art crisp. Real-time telemetry included.

Zero-waste atlas packing

MaxRects heuristics (BSSF, BAF) with lossless deduplication of identical frames. Power-of-two (POT) constraint and edge extrusion to eliminate bilinear filtering bleeding.

Sequencing and pixel editor

Arrange your animations on a filmstrip timeline. Handle sub-pixel pivots with an anti-jittering envelope. Built-in pixel editing (Bresenham) and non-destructive filters: background removal (chroma key), anti-halo, outline.

Multi-engine export bridges

Native integration with the leading game engines.

Unity 2D

Generates Sprite assets with native geometry (SpriteMeshType.Tight), compatible with the SRP Batcher. Automated import of Animator-ready AnimationClip assets.

Godot 4

Native creation of ready-to-use .tres resources (SpriteFrames). Injection of polygonal 2D ArrayMesh to eliminate transparent overdraw.

Unreal Engine 5 (Paper2D)

C++ injection (EditorOnly module) of FSpriteGeometryData (rendering and collision). Avoids the performance collapse caused by the dynamic “Translucency” pass.

Also supported: JSON (TexturePacker), LibGDX (.atlas), Aseprite Binary, Phaser, PixiJS. CLI daemon mode (bentopack-cli --watch) available for CI/CD pipelines.
